Report: Putin, Erdogan to mull grain deal, Syrian issue
ANKARA, Aug 7 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will discuss the grain deal, as well as the Syrian issue during talks planned in August, Hurriyet reported on Monday citing sources.
“The grain corridor is in the main topic. President Erdogan proposed to send Russian grain to poor African countries after processing it into wheat in Turkey. Putin is expected to make a relevant gesture within the framework of the grain corridor,” Hurriyet reported.
The presidents will also discuss trade relations between the two countries, the Zangezur corridor project, relations between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the Syrian issue.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Putin and Erdogan agreed to decide on the exact location and timing of the meeting in the near future.
